Digital & Film Cameras for Beginners

This workshop is two days and will cover basic digital & film camera controls & how they relate to use of available light, flash, and composition. The course will also include numerous critiques and discussions on the art of seeing photographically and how to heighten an awareness of light and point of view. Bring your favorite 35mm, point and shoot or digital camera, instruction book and a sampling of your photographs to the first class.

Solo Show at Watchung Arts Center
4 Solo Exhibitions: Four artists will be chosen by jury for solo exhibitions in the Watchung Art Center’s Lower Gallery in 2010. The lower gallery where your show will be held is 20x15 feet, with track lighting, and a Walker hanging system. The reception in the lower gallery will coincide with that of the upper gallery show reception.

The New Art Group (NAG) has renewed its contract with the Watchung Arts Center (WAC) for 2010. The NAG will be curating one or two shows in the upper galley (probably a portrait show). They will be running a competition for four solo shows in the lower gallery and be selecting a group of artists to show in the upper gallery in February 2010. The Watchung Arts Center is a beautiful venue and a wonderful opportunity. It is a multi use arts facility with an upper and lower art gallery.
