Represented
by Brion Galleries since its earliest days (as The Artists Showcase
in Chester), Cathy Lang is one of our best-selling artists. In the presence of her work,
gallery visitors frequently drift into discussions of the exquisite paintings
of Matisse and Cézanne.
Cathy’s style can be variously described as joyful, nostalgic,
serene and even excitingly contemporary. Her new paintings retain
all these qualities while bringing their contemporary spark to a higher
pitch. Some of her still lives incorporate subtle geometric elements,
adding a new dimension to these powerful, flower-dominated works. Her
landscapes, however, are more gestural – capturing the freedom
of a warm breeze on a sunny day in all its simple elegance.
WORK ON COMMISSION
Cathy’s work is so popular that most of the work pictured on this
site has already sold. Please don’t let this discourage you
from perusing and enjoying her art.
If you see something you particularly like, the artist may agree to
do a similar painting just for you. |
